Two days, set aside. Clearing borrows the shape of a long wine pairing — a run of courses, each with its wine and its story — and makes it a vessel for thinking.
The days are for clarity: walking, stillness in three forms — sitting, walking, standing — and conversation about where artificial intelligence is taking us, over light meals. The evenings are for the table: a pairing, course by course, where the day’s questions come together over a glass and a story. You arrive in the gears of everyday work; you leave with a little more clarity than you came with.
02 — What makes it different
Four things rarely sit at the same table: senior judgment about technology, philosophy, a contemplative practice, and genuine hospitality.
Most retreats offer one of them. A leadership offsite has the strategy but not the silence. A meditation week has the silence but not the substance. A good dinner has the warmth but no through-line. The pairing is what holds all four at one table — course by course, each thread tasted and considered — and lets them change one another over two days.
It is not a course, and not a conference, but a small group of people who think for a living, given the time to think well together. The wine is never the point and never the excess — it is the ritual that slows the talk down, each bottle with a story rather than a tally.

04 — Your hosts
Comes to it as an entrepreneur, not an onlooker: two decades leading a group that builds connected devices, and a long-held belief that good technology should serve people, last, and sit lightly on the world.
Comes to it from inside technology, not above it: a senior background in user experience and human–computer interaction, years of university teaching and research, and two decades building in regulated fields — medical devices, laboratory, and equipment.
The point is not the hosts. It is the questions. They are simply the two who keep the room honest, the hours unhurried, and the conversation moving.
